Industry conference time

By Jay Smallat 12:42 pm 2/18/2006

You probably won't see much new on SI these next few days. I'm in Orlando at the Newspaper Association of America Marketing Conference and CONNECTIONS, also known as "the mouthful."

If you're here too, you might see me on a panel discussion Tuesday, titled Revamping Web Site Design to Increase Audience and Revenue. Shoot, that's easy -- do we even need a panel for that? ;-)

If you're not here, the NAA will have several people contributing tidbits from the conference to a Weblog. It hasn't launched yet, but when it does, I will try to post a link here. Update: The blog is online.

Later this spring, I'll pop up at the America East/New Media World newspaperfest in lovely Hershey, Pa., along with a confirmed stop for an upcoming Poynter Institute seminar and possibly one more industry event.

Unfortunately, to come to Orlando I had to give up my annual pilgrimage to Syracuse, N.Y., to blog the judging of the Best of Newspaper Design competition, also this weekend. Fortunately, that effort fell into great hands, as you can see. Stay warm and remain suspicious of that Drumlins food, friends!

I've been promoted to Vice President of Excessive Vice Presidents.
