Microsoft Outlook 2002 on Win2K also rendered the sample tags as working links...making the computer cry when I clicked on them.

It might be a good idea to include a link to the web-version of the newsletter within the email-version. That way if the mail program freaks out again, I could quickly and easily get to a working version.
